Björn Wirtz – “Ansichtssache”

I cordially invite you to the opening of my exhibition “Ansichtssache”, taking place on March 28, 2024, at 6 p.m. at Hauptstraße 5 in Volkach. I will be personally present and am looking forward to sharing my inspirations and creative processes with you in individual discussions.

As an plein air painter, I often work in nature, allowing my artworks to evolve in direct dialogue with the motif. I aim to make my enthusiasm for and intense engagement with the visible world palpable in my paintings. The motif serves merely as a starting point, a spark that ignites my desire to paint. Through editing and simplification, I aim to create something that transcends mere representation and ultimately expresses my emotions.

I am excited to share these emotions with you through my latest works, which include over 60 oil paintings featuring a variety of still lifes and new, personal perspectives on the region. The exhibition will be held in a historic building in the heart of Volkach, covering an area of over 100 square meters.

Following the opening on March 28, 2024, you will have the opportunity to visit my exhibition until April 21, 2024. Opening hours are on Saturdays, Sundays, Good Friday, and Easter Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We are also happy to arrange individual viewing appointments upon request.
