BJÖRN WIRTZ - PICTURESQUE MAINSCHLEIFE / 4-27.9.2020
Art exhibition by Volkach open-air painter Björn Wirtz shows impressions of the region
Press release:
Volkach - Every weekend in September, the exhibition "Malerische Mainschleife" by artist Björn Wirtz is open to visitors in Hauptstraße 5.
The Volkach-based painter has had exhibitions in Germany and the USA, but this is the first in his home town. He has received several awards at national and international competitions and his works are represented in private collections in Germany and abroad.
"As an open-air painter, I have often met interested and sometimes astonished people in recent years who were enthusiastic about my work. Often, under the spell of creation, there is not much time or leisure for an extended exchange," says Björn Wirtz.
"I would now like to use this exhibition to present my personal view of the often fleeting beauty that surrounds us to a wide audience in the region and to share my thoughts and motivation."
The exhibition consists of a selection of more than 60 paintings, including landscapes and still lifes inspired by the region. It extends over 100 square meters in a historic old building in the center of Volkach. The artist will be present on all exhibition days and will be available to answer questions from interested visitors.
From September 4 - 27, 2020, the exhibition will be open Fridays to Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. If required, the exhibition can also be opened by appointment.
